The sports activity at AESM is organized by the “Physical Training and Sports” chair. As of 1998, the sports activities are carried out in the AESM Sports Complex which has the largest multipurpose hall in Chisinau, two gymnasiums, and other specialized sports facilities, as well as two outdoor sports fields.

There are various sports clubs organized within AESM which include: volleyball, handball, football, table tennis, athletics, swimming, badminton, free style wrestling, aerobics, judo, chess, draughts etc.

Sports activities are practiced daily by 250-300 students among which there are 16 Masters of sports and 20 candidates to Master of sports.

Among the most important teams could be mentioned:

- men’s/women’s volleyball teams, participating in numerous national and international tours and competitions;
- women’s basketball team, Ist place award and Gold Medal Winner of the Championship of the Republic of Moldova in 2004;
- men’s basketball team, IVth place award in the Championship of the Republic of Moldova in 2005;
- draughts team, Ist place award in the Universiade;
- men’s/women’s free style wrestling, swimming, handball teams.
